Morocco, Mozambique set up business council to bolster joint investment
The employers’ unions of Morocco and Mozambique have agreed to set up a joint business council to foster trade exchanges and economic cooperation between the two African countries.
The agreement was inked Thursday in Marrakesh by Chakib Alj, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Agostinho Zacarias Vuma, Chairman of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA).
The deal was sealed on the sidelines of the 2022 U.S.-Africa Summit organized in Marrakesh by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCM) in partnership with Morocco.
The Morocco-Mozambique business council will facilitate contact, the exchange of experiences and data between the two countries firms and SMEs on joint investment opportunities in sectors of common interest.
The council will also work with businesses and government agencies in both countries to promote and increase bilateral trade. It will support businesses with the insights, networks, policy advocacy, services, and facilities needed to succeed in Africa and beyond.
