Vice-President of Chile’s Chamber of Deputies hails Morocco’s efforts to settle Sahara dispute

Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile, Claudia Nathalie Jimenez Mix, hailed, Monday in Rabat, Morocco’s efforts to find a final political solution to the artificial dispute over the Sahara issue.

The Chilean MP, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom at the head of a large parliamentary delegation, held talks with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita as well as with first vice-president of the House of Advisors.

The talks discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

During the talks, the Chilean MP highlighted the efforts made at the bilateral level to strengthen the relationship between the two countries and the two parliamentary institutions.

She also surveyed the political situation in her country, marked by efforts to achieve several important political and constitutional reforms.

The Moroccan side expressed appreciation for Chile’s unwavering support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and praised the initiatives of the Chilean Parliament, especially the 2020 initiative in support of Morocco’s efforts to secure the passage of Guerguarat, as well as the backing to the autonomy plan as a realistic solution to the artificial dispute over the Moroccanness of the southern provinces.
