Morocco-Germany: Shared resolve to upgrade economic, financial Cooperation

Morocco and Germany have underlined the strength of their partnership and commended the quality and density of financial and technical cooperation between the two countries, while reaffirming their shared desire to strengthen cooperation in all areas of common interest.

This came at a meeting held Monday in Rabat between Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, and the Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Bärbel Kofler.

During this meeting, which was attended by the new German Ambassador to Morocco, Robert Dolger, the two ministers highlighted the strong partnership binding the two countries, and the importance of Moroccan-German relations, said the Ministry of Economy and finance in a statement.

Mrs Fettah Alaoui welcomed the financial support provided to Morocco by the German government during the Covid-19 crisis, as well as the German initiative “Partnership to encourage reforms”, launched in 2019, which is a new and promising framework for cooperation between the two countries.

For her part, Kofler stressed the particular importance attached by the German government to the partnership with Morocco and the willingness to extend its scope to other priority sectors, such as the areas of green transition, the statement added.

The two sides also reviewed the main reforms undertaken by Morocco in line with the conclusions of the report on the New Development Model as well as the priority projects launched in this framework.
