Morocco rejects use of force in international disputes

In reaction to the unfolding crisis in Ukraine, Morocco said it respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all UN member states and rejects the use of force in resolving international disputes.

“The Kingdom of Morocco reiterates its attachment to the principle of non-recourse to violence in settling disputes between states and encourages all initiatives and actions aiming at finding a peaceful solution to conflicts,” Morocco’s foreign ministry said.

Morocco, which is following with concern the evolution of the situation between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, has mobilized its diplomats in Ukraine and neighboring countries to help Moroccans flee the country.

Russia launched on Feb 24 a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine where Russian troops are trying to capture main cities despite fierce resistance by the Ukrainian army.

The war has triggered a new refugee crisis as thousands flee the country to neighboring states.
