Morocco’s investments abroad hit record levels in 2021

Morocco’s direct investments abroad recorded in 2021 the highest level over the past five years, reaching 17.9 billion dirhams.

According to the latest data of the exchange office, this figure represents an increase of 10.17 billion dirhams compared to 2020, when these investments amounted to 7.7 billion dirhams.

In 2019, Morocco’s investments abroad amounted to about 10.9 billion dirhams; 9.9 billion dirhams in 2018; and 11.9 billion dirhams in 2017.

Likewise, the net flow of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in the kingdom recorded an increase of 20.5% to more than 20.17 billion dirhams at the end of December 2021 against 16.74 billion dirhams a year earlier, according to the exchange office.
