OCP Group joins ESPP to support sustainable management of phosphorus
Morocco’s state-owned phosphate Group (OCP) has joined the European Sustainable Phosphorus Platform (ESPP) to contribute to the promotion of sustainable management of phosphorus.
“We are pleased to become an ESPP member. Phosphorus is a vital resource and we are committed to maximizing the potential of this resource, through innovation and R&D to continue to create phosphate products that help feed the world sustainably,” says OCP Group’s Director of Sustainability & Green Industrial Development.
The group will share its expertise and best practices with more than 40 ESPP members as well as its vast network of researchers and industrial players covering the entire phosphate and phosphorus value chain, in order to reflect together to new and innovative ways to use this resource optimally, adds OCP.
The OCP group extracts, processes, transforms and exports phosphate products from the largest global phosphate reserves known to date in Morocco, to its customers in Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America and the United States.
Headquartered in Morocco and present on 5 continents, OCP works in a close partnership with more than 160 customers over the world. It is the world’s first producer of phosphate-based fertilizers. It provides a wide range of well-adapted fertilizer products to enhance soil and increase agricultural yields in a sustainable and affordable way.
Set up in 2013, the ESPP promotes knowledge sharing, experience transfer and networking for opportunities in the field of phosphorus management. The platform also facilitates discussion between the market, stakeholders and regulators, addresses regulatory obstacles, contributes to policy proposals, circulates information by newsletters, website, conferences and publications, promotes Platform Members’ activities.
