Morocco opens an embassy in Bujumbura, Burundi welcomes the move

Morocco has decided to open an embassy in Morocco and Burundi welcomed the move, saying the representation will be a diplomatic bridge between the two countries.

 

The embassy will be located in Bujumbura, Burundi’s economic capital.

 

Burundi “welcomes the decision of the Kingdom of Morocco to open an Embassy in Burundi with residence in Bujumbura,” tweeted on Thursday the Foreign Ministry of Burundi.

 

Burundi which was among the first African countries to open a consulate in Laayoune reiterated the maintenance of its consular representation in the Saharan city.
