Morocco welcomes steps to narrow Qatar-GCC gap

Morocco expressed optimism and satisfaction at the recent development to end the rift between Qatar and other Gulf Cooperation Council member states.

The Moroccan foreign ministry has voiced hope to see a lasting agreement to this dispute with a view to restoring the cohesion of the GCC and fostering stability and Arab unity.

The ministry also underscored the close ties between Morocco and the countries of the GCC and commended the efforts led by Kuwait and the US to build bridges of reconciliation within the Gulf family.

In the wake of the Qatar-GCC rift, Morocco adopted neutrality and supported mediation efforts to end the dispute between the Gulf brothers.
