Morocco’s Football matches coming back end of July

The Moroccan national football championship will resume its season by end of July, after halting competition since March 20 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The announcement was made on Tuesday in Rabat by sports minister Othmane El Ferdaous without saying whether the fans will be allowed or not to attend the games as in some countries wherein football matches resumed behind closed doors.

The clubs players can resume their training starting next week, added the minister, affirming that the national championship will restart competition under a strict health protocol set up jointly by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, and the Ministries of the Interior and Public Health.

The Moroccan government has started lately easing the lockdown enforced in the country to prevent the spread of covid.19, giving the go-ahead to several economic activities, while the public health emergency is expected to be lifted on July 10.
