Turkey: Defense Aselsan gets orders worth $320 million in Q1 of 2020
Turkey’s top electronics defense contractor, Aselsan, Thursday revealed that it has received for the first quarter of the year orders estimated at $320 million despite ongoing difficult global business operations over the coronavirus outbreak.
Aselsan “continued its growth trend in the first three months of 2020 without losing momentum,” the company Chairman Haluk Görgün said in statement.
He stressed that company will keep supporting its production power and research and development activities with strong financial results in 2020, as it did in 2019.
Görgün added that the fallout from coronavirus and disruption in global supplies will not affect operations as more than 5,000 of Aselsan’s suppliers are now domestic companies.
The company which belongs to Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, has a wide range of product portfolio including communication and information technologies, radar and electronic warfare, electro-optics, avionics, unmanned systems, land, naval and weapon systems, air defense and missile systems, command and control systems, transportation, security, traffic, automation and medical systems.
Aselsan features among world top 100 defense companies.
