Morocco Foils Smuggling Attempt of 2.6 Tons of Cannabis

Moroccan police of the city of Fez intercepted on Wednesday 2.6 tons of cannabis packed aboard a Morocco-registered truck.

The 35-year old driver was arrested with the illicit cargo at a local gas station. A probe is underway to determine the possible links between this smuggling operation and international drug-trafficking networks.

This drug-busting operation is part of the sustained efforts deployed by Morocco’s security services in combating drug trafficking and dealers.
