Local Governance: Morocco Shares its Experience with Mauritania
Morocco and Mauritania have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in local and regional governance for a better, accountable, transparent and efficient administration.
An agreement to this end was inked on Monday in Nouakchott on the sidelines of a symposium organized under the theme “The regions Governance in Mauritania & Morocco”.
The two sides pledged to share experiences in local governance and decentralization through the holding of regular conferences and workshops. They also agreed to enhance trade, investment, industrial and tourist activities as well as twinning agreements between the two countries local governments.
In Morocco, decentralization is an essential element in the management of state affairs. Major strides have been accomplished in the implementation of advanced regionalization in the North African Kingdom which is endeavoring to speed up regional development, curb social disparities, enhance attractiveness, improve regional competitiveness, and enhance inclusive democracy for an integrated, sustainable economic and social development.
