Alleged drug trafficker wanted by Interpol arrested in Morocco

Policemen at the Bab Sebta crossing point arrested on Friday a Frenchman of Turkish origin who was wanted by Interpol for alleged links to international drug trafficking networks, national police (DGSN) said.

The arrest of the 27-year-old suspect is part of the strengthening of international cooperation in the fight against cross-border crime as well as security operations to arrest internationally wanted persons, the DGSN said in a statement.

French authorities issued on July 29, 2019, an international arrest warrant for the arrest of the man, suspected of links to drug trafficking networks.

The suspect was remanded in custody pending the completing of investigations and the examination of the extradition procedure, the DGSN said.
