Solidarity operation “Ramadan 1440” launched in Rabat

King Mohammed VI launched this Wednesday, in Yaâcoub Al Mansour district in Rabat, the solidarity and support operation “Ramadan 1440”, initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

This action of generosity is of particular significance in this blessed month and reflects the King’s constant solicitude towards the needy. It also consecrates the values of humanity, solidarity, mutual help and sharing that characterize Moroccan society.

Operation “Ramadan 1440”, to mobilize 70.242 million dirhams, will benefit more than 2.5 million people or 500,300 households, in 83 provinces and prefectures of the Kingdom. Of the beneficiary households, 402,238 live in rural areas.

The humanitarian operation, which is in its 20th edition this year, has become an annual event to bring help and comfort to the most vulnerable social layers, including widows, the elderly and people with disabilities.

It is also an opportunity to promote the culture of solidarity and ensure sustainable human development, in accordance with the values and precepts of Islam.
