Abundant Rainfall Augurs well for Morocco’s Crop Year, Water Storage

The abundant rainfalls witnessed in Morocco in winter and early spring of 2018 are auguring well for the agricultural sector and the country’s water reserves.

The dam filling rate increased to 69.2% by April 16, with rainfall ranging between 100 to 120 mm in the north and 30 to 60 mm in the center and south.

The agricultural ministry has also expressed optimism regarding this crop year and the beneficial impact of the rise in water reserves.

Agriculture is Morocco’s biggest employer with more than 35% and accounts for 15% of Morocco’s GDP.
