Morocco Reinforces Deterrence Capabilities with Chinese WS-2 Rocket System

Morocco has recently added China’s guided MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) to its arsenal in a bid to bolster its ground to air deterrence capabilities.

Morocco has acquired four batteries of the long-range Chinese missile system, local media reported.

Maximum range of fire is 200 km, however some sources claim that it might be up to 350 km. Minimum range is 70 km.

Each battery of this advanced artillery system is equipped with 6 launchers for 400mm rockets.

Each rocket can be equipped with various warheads, including anti-personnel, anti-armor or fuel air explosive.

Morocco and Egypt are among the few countries to have bought such a system with high strategic value.
