US-Moroccan Relations Reviewed at Meeting in Washington

The multi-faceted relations between the United States and Morocco were reviewed at a meeting in Washington Thursday between Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two officials to discuss a number of issues of shared interest, reported the news portal le360, quoting a source close to the Moroccan government.

Besides cooperation between Morocco and the United States, the two officials also discussed the situation in the Maghreb and the Sahel, several African topical issues and the developments of the Moroccan Sahara issue, the portal said.

This was the first meeting between the US and Moroccan officials since they assumed office respectively in February and April this year.
