Morocco: Attijariwafa Bank Group crowned best Moroccan bank by Euromoney awards for excellence
Morocco’s Attijariwafa Bank was Wednesday named best Moroccan bank by Euromoney for Excellence 2016 awards organised by leading Euromoney Institutional Investor based in London.
Awards for Excellence are the most prestigious awards in global banking, which recognizes 20 global leading banks in various categories including world’s best bank, world’s best bank for financing, and world’s best bank for transaction.
The 25th anniversary of the awards also awarded 75 regional banks as well as 164 country winners.
The awards are “based on year-round monitoring of market share and customer-satisfaction data compiled by Euromoney’s industry-leading surveys department”, the Euromoney Institution reports.
France’s leading and Paris-based bank; BNP Paribas was crowned world’s best bank. It also won Western Europe awards for excellence 2016.
Attijariwafa Bank early in this year, in May was named best African bank of the year by peers at a ceremony in Lusaka, Zambia.
Attijariwafa Bank was founded in 1911 and headquartered in Casablanca. Led by Mohamed Kettani, Attijariwafa Bank is active in 24 countries and maintains offices in Shanghai (China), London, Paris, Brussels, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan and the Netherlands.
