At the seventh International Forum of Very Small and Medium Enterprises held in Casablanca Oct.22 under the theme “TPME 2030: taxation, digital and financing in service of competitiveness”, new digitalized support schemes and a modernized tax framework were unveiled to strengthen entrepreneurs’ resilience to crises.
Forum president Amal Cherif Haouat stressed entrepreneurs’ need for clear information and tailored support. Hassan Berkani, head of the Casablanca-Settat chamber of commerce, highlighted its interface role with the administration, through mediation and 23 free services, and welcomed the recent creation of a ministry for artificial intelligence.
Guest of honour Anouar Ismaïli Alaoui, director general of Maroc PME, recalled that very small firms make up 95% of the national economic fabric but generate only 15% of wealth. He presented the Orbit 2030 roadmap and the SME Pact. Built on an evolving support offer, proven expertise and stronger public-private synergy, Orbit 2030 will soon be rolled out through the regional investment centres of the twelve regions.
The Jisr Al Mokawala platform will digitalize all procedures, with a first response within 48 hours and final validation within a month. In a panel on tax transition, General Tax Directorate officials said electronic invoicing would run on a highly secure circuit with real-time validation, at very low cost, and accountants were urged to strengthen their advisory role.
A final panel examined financing, guarantees and guidance. L’Économiste says blocked bank files often stem from a lack of upstream support rather than banks’ caution alone. Tamwilcom representatives detailed the guarantee instruments and financial services available to secure investments and ease access to credit.
