Morocco Intercepts Panamanian Cargo Ship for Allegedly Sinking a Fishing Boat

The Moroccan Royal navy has intercepted a Panamanian cargo ship in Agadir after it allegedly entered into a frontal collision with a fishing boat off the Atlantic coasts of El Jadida on Wednesday.

Seven fishermen out of 9 on board the fishing boat were rescued by the Royal Gendarmerie while search is ongoing to find the missing two.

The Panamanian ship is held at the port of Agadir where investigations are underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

According to local media, investigators are analyzing the ship’s black box to see whether the crew of the Panamanian ship refused to assist the fishermen following the collision.
