Algerian nationals received the highest number of orders to leave European Union territory in 2025 and continued to lead in the first quarter of 2026, according to the latest figures from Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office.
In 2025, EU member states issued 45,725 removal orders against Algerian citizens. The gap reached 16,695 decisions, or 57.5 percent more for Algerians. Turks followed with 24,780 orders and Syrians with 20,055. Overall, the EU recorded 491,950 removal orders that year. France issued the largest share (137,550), followed by Germany (55,240) and Spain (53,700).
The trend persisted into the first three months of 2026. Algerians accounted for 11,105 orders, against 6,435 for Moroccans. During the same period, Spain alone issued 9,275 removal orders across all nationalities.
