EU-Morocco goods trade hits record €62.2 bln in 2025

Trade in goods between the European Union and Morocco rose to a record €62.2 billion in 2025, driven by higher EU exports, with the bloc’s trade surplus widening to €11.2 billion, European Commission data showed.

EU purchases from Morocco totaled €25.5 billion in 2025, up 0.5% year-on-year, while EU sales to the North African Kingdom climbed 3.3% to €36.7 billion, according to the Commission’s Directorate-General for Trade using Eurostat-Comext data.

Morocco ranked 21st among EU suppliers, 17th among its export destinations and 17th overall trading partner. The country accounted for 1.0% of EU external imports, 1.4% of exports and 1.2% of total extra-EU trade.

Industrial products dominated flows in both directions. The EU imported €20 billion of industrial goods from Morocco (78.4% of imports), €3.7 billion of agricultural goods (14.6%) and €1.8 billion in fisheries (7%). EU exports to Morocco comprised €32.7 billion of industrial products (89.2%), €3.8 billion in agricultural goods (10.3%) and €185 million in fisheries.

By product group, EU imports from Morocco were led by machinery and transport equipment at €12.9 billion (50.6%, -3.5%), followed by food and live animals at €5.2 billion (+6%), miscellaneous manufactures at €4 billion (+3.7%), and chemicals at €1.6 billion (+5.4%).

EU exports to Morocco showed a similar structure: machinery and transport equipment reached €14.9 billion (40.6%, +9.4%), ahead of manufactured goods (€7.4 billion, +5.9%), chemicals (€3.5 billion, +6.9%), mineral fuels (€3.1 billion, -28.4%), and food products (€3 billion, +4.4%).
