Leeds United have expressed interest in signing Morocco’s international Azzedine Ounahi amid press reports announcing imminent departure of the Casablanca-born star from his Spanish club Girona following their relegation to the second tier.
The 26-year-old Moroccan midfielder has joined in 2025 the Catalan club from Olympique de Marseille on a five-season deal. Ounahi has shone with Girona, establishing himself as a vital creative force in the team’s midfield and earning “Player of the Season” honors from supporters’ groups for his impact on the squad.
Ounahi had previously played for French football club Angers and Greek club Panathinaikos before moving to Spain. The managers of Leeds are looking to reinforce their midfield as they build for their second consecutive season back in the top flight.
