Morocco Facilitates Import-Export Operations with Digital Foreign Trade Service

Morocco has launched a new online platform destined to streamline import and export operations in a move aimed at cutting delays, reducing costs and boosting further the country’s economic and trading competitivity.

To cut red-type and facilitates administrative procedures, several Moroccan institutions, including the Customs, the Port authorities, the foreign trade department and PortNet have joined efforts to make it easier and faster to import and export goods.

This time and energy saving initiative will enable companies to avoid dealing with various administrations. Now, they will have to submit all their paperwork to one digital system for fast-track processing.

This electronic single window- system connects more than ten government bodies involved in trade, including agriculture, health and food safety agencies. More than 100,000 users are expected to use the new platform, including importers, exporters, logistics companies, banks and public services.

Building on its success of facilitating port trade operations, PortNet SA has been tasked with handling also air and land import-exports. In 2025, UNCTAD Review of Maritime Transport hailed the Moroccan PortNet service, saying it is an example of successful cooperation between the public and private sectors. It has improved maritime connectivity, logistics performance, and compliance with international commitments such as the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement.
