Moroccan-Saudi cooperation in matters of security, intelligence reviewed in Riyadh

Ways to promote bilateral cooperation in areas of security and intelligence were discussed at a meeting held in Riyadh between Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST) Abdellatif Hammouchi and Saudi security officials

Hammouchi, who is leading a large security delegation, is on a working visit to Saudi Arabia February 8-12, at the invitation of Minister Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Howairini, Head of State Security of Saudi Arabia, to participate in the 3rd World Defense Show hosted by the Saudi capital, the DGSN-DGST hub said in a statement Wednesday.

The two sides also reviewed mechanisms for accessing mutual technical assistance in the security and intelligence fields.

The Moroccan delegation’s participation in the World Defense show is also an opportunity to explore the future of integration in the fields of security and defense on a global scale, through examination of the latest technical developments in this area, as well as debate on the main advanced programs and applications available to security and defense authorities, with the aim of enshrining global security and stability, the statement added.

The participation illustrates the growing importance the DGSN-DGST hub shows for modernization and innovation in the field of security as essential elements for meeting emerging challenges and responding to future security issues, as well as reflecting its ongoing commitment to strengthening strategic security partnerships with various brotherly and friendly countries, the statement said.
