
FIFA U20 World Cup: Morocco beat Brazil 2-1 to advance to knockout stage
Morocco U-20 National football team defeated on Thursday five-time champions Brazil 2-1 in Chile to qualify for the knockout stage of the world football tournament.
The goals of the young Atlas Cubs were scored by Othmane Maamma with a stunning scissor in the 60th minute and Yassir Zabiri who lashed home with the outside of his boot from the left of the box in the 76th minute.
With this second consecutive victory, following a 2-0 win over Spain, Morocco now tops Group C with 6 points, ahead of Mexico (2 points). Brazil and Spain share the bottom spot with just 1 point each.
After defeating two global football giants, sparking excitement across Africa and the Arab World, the Moroccans will face Mexico in their final group match with confidence.
