Royal Air Maroc to start receiving Boeing 737 MAX 8 Jets shortly

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is set to bolster its fleet with the delivery of two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, scheduled to arrive on May 31 and June 2, respectively, Le360 reported.

The order is part of the national carrier’s broader strategy to expand and modernize its operations amid growing demand for air travel.

These deliveries are part of a nine-aircraft order placed in 2023, aimed at enhancing RAM’s medium-haul capabilities, particularly on routes linking Morocco with Europe and sub-Saharan Africa.

The new jets will support the airline’s ambitions under the 2023–2037 strategic roadmap, which targets a fourfold increase in fleet size, from 50 to 200 aircraft.

The 737 MAX 8, known for its fuel efficiency and extended range, will help RAM improve operational performance while offering enhanced passenger comfort.

A third aircraft is currently in final assembly at Boeing’s facilities, with the remaining six expected to be delivered in the second half of 2025, the news outlet reported citing unnamed sources.

RAM’s fleet expansion aligns with Morocco’s broader goal of positioning Casablanca as a premier aviation hub connecting Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
