Malaysia Airlines and Royal Air Maroc sign codeshare deal to boost connectivity

Malaysia Airlines and Royal Air Maroc have signed a codeshare agreement aimed at expanding travel options between Africa, Europe and Asia, the carriers announced Wednesday.

The partnership, which links the two oneworld alliance members, will allow passengers to book connecting flights between Casablanca and Kuala Lumpur via Doha, London and Paris.

Under the deal, Royal Air Maroc will place its “AT” code on Malaysia Airlines flights between Kuala Lumpur and the three hubs, while Malaysia Airlines will add its “MH” code to Royal Air Maroc services from Casablanca to the same destinations.

“This collaboration leverages the strength of our oneworld partners to extend our reach far beyond our own network,” said Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, group chief executive of Malaysia Aviation. “It offers customers better access, flexibility and convenience for travel across Africa and beyond.”

Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc, called the agreement “a major step in developing our long-haul network in Asia,” adding that it reinforces the airline’s role as a bridge between Africa, Europe and Asia.

Both carriers said the deal responds to growing demand for intercontinental travel and will provide smoother connections through their respective hubs in Casablanca and Kuala Lumpur.

As oneworld members, the airlines offer access to a global network of more than 900 destinations with shared benefits for frequent flyers.
