Tunisia: Judges satisfied with minister’s response to their demands

The Tunisian Magistrates’ Union announced on September 17 that discussions with the Ministry of Justice, launched on July 26, have concluded, focusing on improving the judicial environment and safeguarding judges’ rights.

In a press release, the union expressed satisfaction with the Ministry’s positive response to judges’ professional demands, particularly regarding promotions, functional positions, and transfers. These advancements were made despite the inability to convene meetings of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary.

Aymen Chtiba, President of the Union, met with the Minister of Justice on July 26 to address various issues concerning the judiciary, working conditions in the courts, and the professional rights of judges in the coming months.
