Moroccan court indicts government for Astrazeneca vaccine side effects

A Moroccan court indicted the government for the side-effects of the Astrazeneca vaccine on a woman in Kenitra.

The court ordered the government to pay the woman 25,000 dollars, after a trial that lasted two years, according to a verdict seen by the North Africa Post.

AstraZeneca has withdrawn its coronavirus vaccine, citing the availability of a plethora of new shots that has led to a decline in demand.

Morocco’s government spokesman said that all vaccines had to go through checks and permits by scientific committees before being administered.

In April 2021, EU and UK regulators warned that the vaccine could cause dangerous blood clotting condition as a possible rare side-effect.

In 2021, Astrazeneca’s covid vaccine sales hit 14 billion dollars, before dropping to just 12 million in 2023.
