Morocco’s King Inaugurates New Platforms to Promote Youths Integration, Nurture their Hope in Future
King Mohammed VI inaugurated on Wednesday in the Souss Massa region new platforms and cultural projects meant to promote youths’ integration in the job market, stimulate their initiative and entrepreneurship spirit, guarantee their better socio-economic integration and nurture their hope in the future.
In the town of Ait Melloul (Inezgane-Aït Melloul prefecture), the Monarch inaugurated “Argana Youth Platform”, a structure of support and counselling devoted to young people.
The project, carried out within the framework of the third phase of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH III) destined to “Income improvement and economic inclusion of young people”, will enable young people in the Souss-Massa region to make the most of the “Integrated business support and financing program”, which was developed in accordance with the royal guidelines.
The program includes several measures intended to address and overcome the difficulties hampering access to finance for young project-holders and small and very small enterprises.
The Argana youth platform, worth nearly 7 million dirhams (over $722,000), houses several facilities, including entrepreneurship, employment and counselling rooms, an auditorium, workshops, a media library, in addition to sports amenities.
This platform is a meeting point for the various players involved in the integration of young people in the labor market, in responding to the expectations of those on the dole, and encouraging them to start their own businesses. Specialized teams will accompany the beneficiaries all along the process, from designing to materializing their professional projects.
The Monarch then headed to the prefecture of Agadir – Ida Outanane where he dedicated two cultural centers, “Dar Momkin” and “Etoiles du Souss”.
“Dar Momkin” cultural center, which cost nearly 6.7 MDH, is destined to support young people from 18 to 28, who want to improve or learn new skills in reading, writing, theater, music and video activities…and thus regain confidence in themselves.
“Les étoiles du Souss”, the third of its kind initiated by the Ali Zaoua Foundation, after “Les Étoiles de Sidi Moumen” in Casablanca and Les Étoiles Detroit in Tangier, provides a venue for learning, discovery, sharing…
The Center is already attended by 240 children, teens and young people aged 6 to 28, including 53 pc of girls. They attend courses in theater, visual arts, dance, music and foreign languages and benefit from artistic support and creative coaching programs.
On this occasion, the king handed over 26 school buses for the transport of students and two buses for the transport of sportsmen, to the presidents of municipalities and beneficiary associations in the prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane.
