Morocco & NATO Preparing for Regional Exercise REGEX 20

Preparations for NATO Regional Exercise (REGEX 20), to be hosted by Morocco in November 2020, were reviewed Monday in Rabat by Lt. General, Inspector General of Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Lt.General Hans-Werner Wiermann, chief of NATO International Military Staff.

Talks between the two Generals also covered military cooperation between FAR and NATO, said a statement issued by General Staff of Royal Armed Forces.

Military cooperation between the two sides includes regular high-level meetings, exchange of visits & information, training, stopovers by NATO sea units and participation in various training courses.

The two Generals also hailed the strong and excellent cooperation ties existing between NATO and the North African Kingdom, reaffirming their common will to strengthen and deepen partnership through the exchange of experience and expertise.

Morocco joined NATO’s interoperability platform in 2016. The following year, the two sides signed an agreement to strengthen cyber security.
