Tunisian health minister resigns after passing away of 11 babies at a public hospital
Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahid accepted the resignation of health minister Abderraouf Cherif after the death of 11 babies at a government hospital.
“An administrative investigation has been open and those responsible will be prosecuted,” said the Prime Minister while expressing sympathy with the families of the victims.
The health ministry ascribed the tragedy to blood infections at the hospital in Tunis.
Members of Harakat Machrou Tunis, the political party of the health minister, said the resignation is part of a democratic process.
