Morocco at Helm of International Road Safety’ Organization
The general assembly of the International Road Safety Organization unanimously elected Morocco as a President for a four-year term.
The election took place during the organization’s general assembly in Lisbon, during which Morocco was represented by permanent secretary of the national committee for the prevention of traffic accidents, Nasser Boulaajoul.
This election makes Morocco the first country in Africa and the MENA region to chair this international organization that endeavors to raise awareness about road safety and promote best-practices in this regard.
Founded in 1959, the “International Road Safety” organization also aims at strengthening cooperation between institutions working in the field of prevention and road safety.
