Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan chaired the award ceremony of King Mohammed VI Show Jumping Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park in El Jadida.
This prestigious event is the flagship competition of the national equestrian calendar, organized as part of the final of the 15th edition of the Morocco Royal Tour CSI 5*W, whose final stage is held during the 17th Horse Show in El Jadida.
Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan attended the second round of the final of King Mohammed VI Grand Prix, won by Belgian rider Jérôme Guery who was riding Kiliman Sitte, following two rounds featuring 44 riders from 16 countries: Morocco, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Brazil, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Colombia, Portugal, Ireland, Great Britain, and Monaco.
At the close of the competition, organized by the Morocco Royal Tour Foundation as part of the International Equestrian Federation’s sporting calendar, the Crown Prince presented the King Mohammed VI Grand Prix to the winner.
He then presented awards to the four riders who took the following ranks: Chloe Aston of Great Britain riding Akito Von Rocherath Z, Simon Delestre of France riding Golden Boy DK, Tom Schewe of Germany riding Congress Blue PS, and Roberto Previtali of Italy riding Quirinus 27.
Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan then posed for a commemorative photo with the prize-winning riders.
The Morocco Royal Tour is a must-attend event on the international equestrian calendar. It is an international show jumping circuit held over three stages across three different cities: Tetouan (October 1-4), Rabat (October 7-11), and El Jadida (October 15-18).
The El Jadida leg marks a major milestone with the competition’s elevation to the CSI5*W status, the highest level of international show jumping competition and a qualifier for the World Cup.
This advancement is part of the overall upgrade of this edition, with the transition from CSI1* to CSI2*, which began at the first leg in Tetouan and continued during the second leg in Rabat.
The El Jadida leg thus marks the culmination of this sporting and technical evolution, illustrating the Morocco Royal Tour’s ambition to raise the bar of competition, bolster the circuit’s international profile, and offer riders more opportunities to compete at the highest level.
On Saturday, the King Mohammed VI’s Tbourida Grand Prix was awarded to Moqaddem Charaf El Bahraoui’s Sorba.
El Bahraoui’s Sorba (traditional equestrian team), from the Marrakech-Safi region, won the prize at the close of the fifth and final day of Sorbas’ competition on Saturday as part of the 17th El Jadida Horse Show.
Charaf El Bahraoui’s Sorba finished ahead of Mehdi Anjar’s Sorba from the Marrakech-Safi region in the final overall standings, while Moqaddem Abdeljalil Al Bouabadi’s Sorba from Beni Mellal-Khenifra took the third spot.
