Morocco-UAE Military Cooperation Gaining Momentum

Morocco and the United Arab Emirates have reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership and military cooperation to counter common regional and international challenges.

The two countries have discussed cooperation prospects in defense industry, training and exchange of expertise during the 3rd meeting of their Joint Military Committee convened in Rabat October 5-6.

The closing session of the committee was co-chaired by Lt. General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of Royal Armed Forces & Commander of the South Zone, and Lt. General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of General Staff of the UAE.

The two officials hailed the level of military cooperation achieved between the two countries and voiced commitment to advance Moroccan-Emirati partnership to serve the two countries’ strategic interests.

During their meeting, Lt. General Mohammed Berrid presented Lt. General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei with the “Grand Cordon of the Order of Military Merit,” awarded by King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, in recognition of his efforts to strengthen military cooperation between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE is participating in the Marrakesh Air Show 2026, held October 7-10, with several government and defense entities, supported by the UAE Ministry of Defense and the Tawazun Council for Defense Enablement.

The Emirati pavilion, which includes EDGE Group, Generation 5 Holding, Multi-Level Group, Resource Industries, Al Jundi Journal and Nation Shield, exhibits UAE aerospace and defense manufacturing capabilities.
