King Mohammed VI has strongly condemned the “unjustified and criminal” missile attacks launched by the Iranian regime against Jordan, saying the aggression seeks to undermine the stability and security of Jordan and its people.
In a message of solidarity sent to King Abdullah following the repeated heinous Iranian attacks targeting his country, the Moroccan Sovereign said: “I have followed with great concern and indignation the news of the abject Iranian missile attacks that targeted the territory of the brotherly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as a continuation of Iran’s hostile attitude toward your brotherly country as well as the Arab Gulf States.”
King Mohammed VI has also voiced Morocco’s steadfast and unconditional support for all measures taken by Jordan to defend its security and stability and the safety of its citizens, affirming that Jordan’s security is inseparable from Morocco’s national security.
The Moroccan Monarch said he is convinced that Jordan, under the leadership of King Abdellah, will overcome the repercussions of these heinous attacks, with the determination, solidarity and composure.
The escalating conflict in the Middle East have pushed the price of Brent crude, the global benchmark, to its highest level since late July. Global oil prices climbed on Wednesday to $100 a barrel as the war threatened to further choke supply from the crude-rich Middle East.
The United States and Iran are locked into a war, with Iran trying to maintain a stranglehold on the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route for the world’s oil and gas, and Washington pushing a campaign to choke Iran’s ports and economy.
