American Curtiss-Wright group, a global provider of aerospace, defense, and industrial technologies, announced this Tuesday a strategic expansion of its global footprint with plans for advanced surface treatment facility in Morocco to meet growing aerospace demand.
“Morocco has become a key growth location for premier aerospace manufacturers and their supply chain, and we are excited to provide critical surface treatment services to our valued customers”, said Ray Lopuc, Senior Vice President and Division Lead, Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies.
“We expect the facility to be fully operational by mid-2027”, he underlined without disclosing the amount of the investment earmarked for the state-of- the-art plant to be built in the North African Kingdom.
Surface treatment facilities for aeronautics apply chemical, thermal, and mechanical processes (like anodizing, plating, and shot peening) to protect aircraft and engine components against corrosion, friction, and wear. For aerospace parts, these critical processes must meet rigorous international quality standards, such as Nadcap.
Morocco’s aeronautics ecosystem is a booming, export-driven hub of nearly 150 companies, generating over $2.9 billion in annual revenue.
