Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will operate 12 special direct flights between Casablanca and Houston to carry Moroccan supporters to the national team’s World Cup knockout match against Canada on July 4, the airline said.
The flights, offering more than 3,000 seats, were arranged after the Atlas Lions qualified for the next round following their victory over the Netherlands, the carrier said in a statement, the carrier said in a statement.
Tickets will be sold at a fixed round-trip fare of 10,000 dirhams ($1,000) in economy class, it said.
RAM said the operation extends an earlier airlift programme put in place during the group stage and previous rounds, during which it transported thousands of fans to matches.
The airline described the new schedule as an “air bridge” to allow supporters to attend the Houston fixture, marking its first direct service to the US city.
