Egyptian Health authorities have revealed on Tuesday, September 16 that 7200 injured and sick Palestinians received medical treatment while over 3000 surgeries were performed since November 2023.
This medical assistance constitutes one of the country’s largest humanitarian operations for the besieged enclave, the Ministry of Health said.
According to official figures, 172 Egyptian health Centers have given medical treatment to 7,277 Gaza patients, performed 2,978 surgeries and administered over 18,000 vaccine doses, including 13,265 for children.
Over 1,057 sick Palestinians are still receiving medical treatment in Egyptian health centers, accompanied by 1,657 family members. These figures were revealed during a meeting of the Committee for Health and Social Support for the Wounded and Sick from Gaza, presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister, Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar. He instructed officials to set up contingency plans for new patients’ arrivals, including strengthening drug and medical supply reserves, enhancing skills of medical staffs, and ensuring coordination between agencies for better and more integrated care.
