DGSN-DGST Chief Hammouchi awarded French Decoration

Director General of Morocco’s National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, was decorated on Tuesday in Rabat with the French insignia Officer of the Legion of Honor.

The decoration was presented to Hammouchi by the Ambassador of France to Rabat, Christophe Lecourtier, in accordance with the ceremonial and protocol in force under the procedure for the award of high decorations granted by France.

The awarding to Hammouchi of France’s highest and most prestigious decoration comes in recognition of the pioneering role played by Morocco’s national police services in international efforts to combat terrorism and organized crime.

This distinction also testifies to the effectiveness of mutual assistance in security matters between Morocco and France, in favor of shared security issues.

The ceremony took place on the sidelines of a meeting between Abdellatif Hammouchi and Director General of the French National Police, Louis Laugier, that highlighted by the signing of a Joint Plan of Action, designed to institutionalize the decades-long, distinguished cooperation mechanisms existing between the two countries’ police services.

Louis Laugier was accompanied by a large security delegation comprising several directors of central directorates of the French National Police.
