African Banker Awards: Morocco’s Nadia Fettah Alaoui wins 2025 trophy of Finance Minister of the year

Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Morocco’s Minister of Economy and Finance, has been awarded the trophy of Finance Minister of the Year at the 2025 African Banker Awards in Abidjan.

Her leadership has been recognized for driving macroeconomic stability and positioning Morocco as an attractive destination for investment. This accolade highlights her significant contributions to Morocco’s economic policies and growth, leveraging her extensive background in finance and business.

She is the first Moroccan woman to head the prestigious Ministry of Economy and Finance. She is a graduate of the Paris Business School (HEC Paris). Nadia Fettah worked for the audit firm Arthur Andersen, in Casablanca, investment fund AfricInvest and Insurance Saham company.

In 2018, she was elected CEO of the year during the Africa CEO Forum held in Abidjan.

She had also served as Minister of Tourism for two years, before joining the ministry of Economy and Finance in 2021.
