TAMWILCOM partners with Flat6Labs to boost Moroccan startup ecosystem

Moroccan funding institution TAMWILCOM has formed a strategic partnership with Flat6Labs, a leading startup accelerator in the MENA region, to launch a new acceleration program for innovative Moroccan startups. The collaboration was announced on Monday at GITEX Africa 2025 held in Marrakech April 14.

The program will target high-potential sectors including AgriTech, FinTech, Industry 4.0, CleanTech, Healthcare, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence. It builds on TAMWILCOM’s December 2023 agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to develop acceleration support mechanisms for the country’s emerging tech companies.

“We continue our commitment to Moroccan startups and tech companies,” said Hicham Zanati Serghini, Director General of TAMWILCOM. “Flat6Labs’ expertise will help structure a key stage in the entrepreneurial journey: the acceleration of innovative projects, which is essential for successful fundraising.”

The initiative aims to expedite venture capital fundraising for participating startups by providing comprehensive support from Flat6Labs while making appropriate financing options available. Flat6Labs will design and implement a comprehensive program focused specifically on preparing startups for investment readiness.

“The goals of this program are part of our DNA: unlocking the potential of high-impact startups by giving them the tools they need to grow, structure themselves, and attract funding for national and international development,” explained Yehia Houry, Chief Programs Officer at Flat6Labs.

IFC Regional Representative for the Maghreb David Tinel emphasized the broader impact of the collaboration: “Our partnership with TAMWILCOM will strengthen financing options for Moroccan startups and innovative companies, particularly during the crucial startup phase, promoting technological innovation in Morocco.”

The partnership reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to building a more structured, competitive, and innovation-focused entrepreneurial ecosystem in Morocco. It aligns with the country’s broader ambitions to position itself as a technological innovation hub in North Africa, creating quality jobs while driving sustainable and inclusive growth through private sector development.
