
Morocco, Spain trade breaks new records in 2024
In 2024, Morocco became Spain’s second supplier outside the EU, with an increasing volume to 13 billion euros.
Moroccan goods made up 2.3% of total Spanish imports, as the kingdom strengthened its position as Spain’s main African trade partner.
This positioned Morocco as Spain’s main African supplier with 28% of all goods purchased from the continent, ahead of energy exporters, Algeria 18% and Nigeria 16%.
Spain, in return, maintains its position as Morocco’s first trading partner, accounting for 37% of imports from the EU, ahead of France 20%, Germany 10%, and Italy 8%.
Spain is thus the first client of Morocco in the EU absorbing 38% of Morocco’s exports, followed by France 27% and Italy 9%.
Spanish exports to Morocco are dominated by fuel at 18%, mechanical appliances 12%, cars 11%, electrical appliances 9% and plastic 6%.
Morocco’s exports are made up of electric appliances 30%, ready-to-wear and textile 15%, cars 12%, fisheries 9%, and fruits 6%.
