
GCC reiterates steadfast positions in favor of Sahara, hails Moroccan King’s pioneering initiatives for Africa
Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Al-Budaiwi reiterated the Council’s decisions and constant positions, supporting the Moroccanness of the Sahara, and the Kingdom’s stability and territorial integrity.
In his address before the joint GCC-Morocco ministerial meeting held in Makkah on Thursday, the Council’s Secretary General welcomed UN Security Council resolution no. 2756 adopted on October 31, 2024 concerning the Moroccan Sahara.
Jassim Al Budaiwi also hailed the pioneering initiatives launched by King Mohammed VI in favor of Africa. These initiatives include the promotion of Sahel countries’ access to the Atlantic Ocean, the Atlantic African States Process and the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project.
He likewise praised the reforms undertaken under the Sovereign’s leadership in the political, economic and social spheres, which made of Morocco a credible and partner of choice, as well as a hub of stability in the region.
