Delta Air Lines to launch Atlanta-Marrakech direct air route
Morocco reinforces its air links with the US with the launch of a direct route by Delta Air Lines linking the main hub of Atlanta with Marrakech.
A deal was signed between Morocco’s tourism promotion office and the airline, which will help link Marrakech airport to a third North American airport after Montreal and New York.
The first Marrakech-Atlanta flights are scheduled to start in October 2025, using Boeing 767-400 with 238 seats, with three flights weekly.
Atlanta has the World’s busiest airport handling 108 million passengers in 2024. It stands as a major connecting point to over 150 destinations in 6 continents.
The new route will draw more North American visitors to Marrakech, as the north African country posted record tourism performance at 17 million in 2024.
Morocco’s flag carrier RAM operates flights to New York, Washington and Miami from its Casablanca hub.
In 2024, 402,377 American tourists visited Morocco, a 7% increase from 2023, and in January 2025 alone, arrivals were 26,777, 31% up from 2024. Morocco aims at attracting over one million American tourists.
