No casualties following 5.2-magnitude quake in Northern Morocco

A 5.2-magnitude quake hit northern Morocco near the city of Ouezzane, leaving no human or material casualties, authorities said.

The quake was felt in major cities such as Rabat, Casablanca and Fez, causing panic among residents.

The earthquake however was described as minor leaving no injuries or damages in infrastructure, authorities said.

Memories of the September 2023 earthquake are still vivid. The violent 7 magnitude quake killed nearly 3000, with reconstruction still ongoing in the devastated mountainous villages of Al Haouz.
