Two Moroccan trucks damaged in Mali terrorist attack

Two Moroccan trucks were among the 30 trucks that have been shot in a terrorist attack in Nioro du Sahel on the Malian border with Mauritania.

The terrorists clashed with the army which repelled the attack, the Malian army said.

At least 30 suspected terrorists were killed in the attack which targeted key points in the city, it said on X.

The army said it minimized “collateral damage” without offering details.

In September 2021, two Moroccan truck drivers were killed in an attack in Mali.

In 2023 and 2024, Mali experienced a significant increase in terrorist activities, primarily driven by groups such as Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) and ISIS-Sahel. These groups targeted civilians, Malian Armed Forces (FAMa), and international peacekeepers.
