Fustal World Cup 2024: Morocco beats Iran, advances to quarter-finals

Morocco qualified for the quarter-final of the Futsal World Cup 2024 after beating Asia champion Iran 4-3 in a breathtaking match played Thursday at Bukhara Universal Sports Complex, Uzbekistan.

The goals of the Atlas Lions were scored by Khalid Bouzid, Alireza Rafieipour, Soufiane El Mesrar and Idriss Raiss El Fenni.

The Moroccans had won their opener against Tajikistan 4-2 and defeated Panama 6-3 in their second match. But they lost their 3rd against world champion Portugal 1-4 to rank 2nd in their group and advance to the knocked-out phase of the tournament.

In the quarter-finals, the squad of Hicham Dguig will face five-time champion Brazil in a thriller match.
