UN: Dominica & Sudan support Morocco’s full sovereignty over its entire Saharan territory

The Commonwealth of Dominica and the Republic of Sudan have expressed at the United Nations steadfast support for Morocco’s full sovereignty over its entire Saharan territory, dealing a hard blow to the enemies of Morocco’s territorial integrity.

The supportive stands were voiced during separate meetings held Tuesday in New York by Moroccan foreign Nasser Bourita with his Dominican and Sudanese peers on the sidelines of the ongoing UN General Assembly.

Following his talks with Bourita, Dominica FM Vince Henderson reiterated his country’s constant position backing Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over the entire territory, including the Sahara.

He voiced his country’s support for the Autonomy plan offered by Morocco for the Sahara under its sovereignty, saying the proposed plan is “the only credible, serious, and realistic solution” to the Sahara regional conflict.

Mr. Henderson also praised the UN-led efforts engaged to find a realistic, practical and lasting solution to the Sahara issue, expressing attachment to the UN exclusive role in handling this issue.

For his part, Sudan’s top diplomat Hussein Awad Ali has reaffirmed his country’s strong support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its Sahara.

On his talks with Bourita, he said they discussed bilateral relations and several issues of common interests on the regional and international scene.
